Itedale earned her PhD in Chemistry, specializing in Medicinal and Organic Chemistry, from the University of Gothenburg, where her research on synthesizing and evaluating drugs for rare, orphaned diseases shone through in her thesis, Design and Synthesis of Potential Aminoacyl-tRNA Synthetase Inhibitors.
She advanced her expertise through postdoctoral training in Chemical Biology at the Gladstone Institutes in San Francisco, joining a team that pioneered small-molecule manipulation of stem cell fate.
Later, as an Assistant Professor in Clinical Chemistry and Transfusion Medicine at the University of Gothenburg, Itedale led innovative projects harnessing small molecules to steer stem cell fate in transformative neural, cardiac, and cartilage research
Itedale served as Chief Scientific Officer at CELLINK, where she led the Scientific & Applications team. Their mission: to develop bioink products and empower the 3D bioprinting community with the tools and insights needed to push life sciences forward and shape the future of medicine.
After eight impactful years, Itedale transitioned into consulting—helping organizations design powerful innovation strategies, build winning business plans, and lead teams with purpose, all while mentoring the next generation toward success.
